Withdrawal Policy

The Journal of Emerging Medical Sciences (JEMS) maintains a strict withdrawal policy to uphold academic integrity and transparency. Authors are advised to submit manuscripts only after careful consideration.

1. Request Procedure
Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author via their registered email. The request must include:

  • Article title

  • Names of all authors

  • Manuscript ID (if assigned)

  • A clear justification for withdrawal

2. Review of Requests
All requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering:

  • The stage of the publication process

  • The validity of the stated reasons

  • The potential impact on the journal and scholarly record

3. Withdrawal Conditions

  • Before Acceptance: Withdrawal is permitted without penalty. Repeated unjustified withdrawals may result in submission restrictions.

  • After Acceptance but Before Publication: Allowed only in exceptional cases, such as ethical issues or critical errors. A formal withdrawal notice may be issued.

  • After Publication: Withdrawal is not permitted. Retractions may be issued only in cases of serious misconduct, errors, or ethical violations, in line with COPE guidelines.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Withdrawal of cited articles is not allowed unless ethical misconduct is confirmed.

  • Unjustified post-acceptance withdrawals may result in blacklisting.

  • Conflicts with institutional or funding policies must be supported by documentation.

JEMS adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards in processing all withdrawal and retraction requests. Authors are encouraged to consult institutional authorities before initiating a withdrawal.
