Peer Review Policy

The Journal of Emerging Medical Sciences (JEMS) is committed to upholding rigorous academic standards through a transparent, fair, and double-blind peer review process. This policy ensures the integrity, quality, and scholarly merit of all published content.

1. Initial Screening
All submissions undergo preliminary evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief or editorial board members to assess suitability, ethical compliance, and adherence to submission guidelines. Manuscripts failing to meet basic standards may be returned without external review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review
JEMS employs a double-blind system to ensure anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the review process.

  • Reviewer Selection: Experts with relevant subject matter expertise are invited to evaluate the manuscript.

  • Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess submissions based on originality, scientific rigor, methodological soundness, clarity, ethical adherence, and relevance.

  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts prior to accepting assignments.

3. Editorial Decision
Editorial decisions are based on reviewer reports and include one of the following outcomes:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revisions

  • Major Revisions

  • Reject

4. Revisions and Resubmission
Authors are required to revise manuscripts according to reviewer feedback and submit a detailed response. Further review may be conducted depending on the nature of revisions.

5. Appeals
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification. Appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, and additional reviewers may be consulted if needed.

6. Ethical Standards
JEMS follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Misconduct such as plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical research will result in rejection.

7. Reviewer Responsibilities and Confidentiality
All manuscripts and reviews are treated confidentially. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback and must not use unpublished material for personal research.

8. Editorial Independence
All editorial decisions are made solely based on scholarly merit, independent of commercial or personal influences.
