JEMS adheres to internationally recognized publication ethics and copyright standards to promote transparent, responsible, and accessible dissemination of research.

1. Copyright Ownership
Authors retain copyright of their published work. Upon acceptance, authors grant JEMS a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive the manuscript in print and digital formats.

Authors may:

  • Share their work on institutional repositories and preprint servers with citation

  • Use content in theses, books, or lectures

  • Distribute copies for educational or research purposes (non-commercial)

2. Licensing and Open Access
All articles in JEMS are published under a Creative Commons license (typically CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and adaptation with proper attribution.

3. Author Responsibilities
By submitting to JEMS, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original and does not violate any third-party rights

  • All borrowed content is properly cited and used with permission

  • Required permissions have been obtained for copyrighted material

4. Publisher Rights
JEMS reserves the right to:

  • Edit and format articles in line with journal standards

  • Archive content in relevant databases

  • Enforce publication ethics, including issuing retractions or corrections

5. Third-Party Content
Authors are responsible for obtaining and citing permissions for any third-party content (e.g., figures, tables, data).

6. Retraction and Withdrawal
JEMS may retract or withdraw articles due to plagiarism, ethical violations, or major errors, following COPE guidelines. Withdrawal after acceptance is subject to editorial review and may incur a processing fee.
